Lucy is really doing well. I think we are close on the potty training deal and she is sitting, shaking hands and fetching as well. She goes to work w me some during the day and gets the kids up in the morning. Angela my wife who's not a huge pet person has really taken to Lucy.

Caption for the photo would be "Good fences make good neighbors". Jake can play rough so we'll see when we think they can be together. We'll supervise some outdoor play later today. But we see she can play rough herself sometimes.

After a good night's sleep for all, she is so playful and challenging Jake thru the fence this morning. Her appetite is good, and all seems well with her. Still want her to have time to get her bearings, get confident in new surroundings, and over any stress from yesterday's flight.

Both are being goofy as all get out. She will definitely hold her own with the terrier when she just gets a bit bigger. She'll soon be larger than him! Boy won't he be surprised. It's clear they enjoy each other's company.

And what a personality this girls got! Wow! Just a perfect addition to our family.

Hi there! It has been quite some time since I have updated you about Piper (formerly Yatzee from your kennel). I have had Piper for over 2 years now and she is a wonderful part of our family. Piper and I love to play frisbee and she is really good at it! Rarely does she not catch one and if she does miss it is usually because of a poor throw by me. Whenever we go into the backyard the first thing she does is get her frisbee and run over and drop it at my foot. More recently I have discovered that she loves to play soccer. My mother-in-law ramdomly purchased some plastic balls from Walmart one day and threw them in the backyard for the dogs to play with and now Piper loves to chase and heard the balls all over the yard with her head and nose. It is really funny to watch and she will go non-stop. She really likes when I throw the ball in the air so she can jump up and do a header to hit the ball even higher into the air and then chase it. She will even head the ball right back to you like we are playing catch. Any way just wanted to let you know that all is well and we are having a great time here in Houston. I will try and update more often when I can.

ZZ Top Arrives in Vermont

The puppie arrived last night at our house at midnight. He slept until the sun got him up and then we let him wake up our daughter. The have been playing together ever since except for some naps! I even took him to a playgroup as I did not want to leave him home alone after all that travel. He was awsome, he loved following the kids around, jumping in the kiddie pool, licking the babies faces. My four month old son will have the cleanest face in town! Everyone there loved him. Afterwards, I was able to snap a few pictures before I realized the battery to my camera ran out!

I think he is going to make a wonderful addition to our family! Thank you! I will try to send some more pictures.

There are 2 blue merle females, 1 blue merle male, 2 black tri females, and 2 black tri boys. Expecting these pups to range from large toys to small minis.

Today was a big day for the babies, they had thier tails docked and dew claws removed.

Metallica aka "Cricket" Made it Home to Louisiana

Hi Leslie!

Metallica aka Cricket is back home in New Orleans and is an absolute joy! We spent the weekend in Fort Worth for the holiday, and within 24 hours, she was telling us when she needed to go potty, responding to her name, and sleeping like a champ! The first night she slept the entire night without a peep! The next night she would whine for maybe 10 minutes, then slept until she had to go potty at 1 am. I have to agree with Kathy when I say that I think I've somehow killed her when she is quiet in her crate!!! It's too good to be true! I was worried about the 8 hour car ride back to New Orleans on Monday, but she again surprised me. She slept THE WHOLE WAY THERE in her crate, and would go potty when we stopped for gas. This little girl has already brought us so much love and joy, and we can't wait to watch her grow up! Pictures to come soon!

I can never thank you enough for everything you do for these puppies. She is so well adjusted, calm and loving and I truly appreciate all the love and care that went into her first 8 weeks!

Hi Leslie.

You were right....Cody deserved the Quiet Traveler Award. He did
great through the plane ride and both car rides. The airport was very
quiet. I was carrying him and had him on my lap so was a little
worried they would say something but they just wanted to take pictures
of him.

He's settling in great, as well. The biggest challenge is at night.
He's not particularly fond of being confined. I am putting his food,
treats, etc, in his crate. He keeps one foot out at all times to keep
his options open.

Last night was the battle of the wills between Cody and 2 of my
daughters. Luckily they won out but not easily! During the day he
loves being around us and has been doing great with his
housebreaking. He is also doing great with my daughter's cat, Mimi.

He goes to the vet's tomorrow just for a quick check and I'd like for
his first visit there to be shot free.

We'll send pictures!

Thanks for starting us off on such a great footing. It makes all the
difference.

Thought you might be wondering how Master Quinn is doing. First of all...let me thank you for the amazing way you raise your puppies. This little guy is so well adjusted I'm thinkin' the rest of us might need counseling. He took to his new surroundings surprisingly well; very quiet last night. Of course my husband wakes naturally about 4:00. When I realized Quinn had not made a sound at all during the night, I was afraid I had somehow killed him. No worries, though. He was very sleepy in his kennel and looked at us as if we had some problem with our sight as it was still dark outside. But, when I put him back to bed when Wayne left, he found his inner puppy and let me know he wasn't happy with the situation. He definitely has good lungs lol... after a bit he quieted down and we all went back to sleep.

He and Sookie are doing well. She is a little possessive, mostly about Wayne, but we are working through it and they are getting acquainted and beginning to play. Frankly, I don't think Sookie can decide if she is suppose to defend against him, befriend him or mother him. I'm sure she will come to the right decision soon.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have Quinn in our family. He has already captured our hearts and we can't wait for all the adventures to come.

Thier first car ride started early while still cool (84) and before breakfast. Loaded the gang up and headed out in complete silence, but then suddenly I found myself looking for ear plugs. We made stops at the post office, bank, and feed store and returned home in about an hour. The last half of the trip was very peaceful with most of the pups sound asleep, while others just looked about.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my little man! He is still a crazy puppy but his grown-up personality is starting to show and he’s just the sweetest, most laid back dog ever. Other than thunder, nothing rattles him. You only gently have to tell him “no”, when he’s doing something bad. He just tries so hard to please and is always trying to read us to see what we want. He lets my daughter hug, squeeze and drive him crazy and he is SUCH a Mamma’s boy and follows me around everywhere. I am head over heels in love with him as is my husband, daughter and Tyler!!! He’s perfect for our family. So glad we found him through you!

The Texas weather has heated up, near 100 the last couple days.

Pups enjoy being in the house much more than outside right now which

For Texas the weather was so nice this morning and the puppies at 3.5 weeks are so restless, I decided to carry them all outside for a short period and let them be on a new surface (grass). This group is fearless ! They had no reservations about getting up on all 4's wondering around and even venturing into the rock bed now and then. I am so impressed with them !!

Buying a puppy is a big commitment, and although this breed is

awesome, they are not for everyone. With that said, when you

contact me about a puppy, please give me a little information about

as a breeder. Most puppies leave here on a spay / neuter contract.

What We Do
We carefully plan our litters and do not breed our adults until they

have had thier health clearances done. We strive to deliver healthy,

happy puppies that will make our future families wonderful companions.
Our puppies are born right here in the house with us where they can

be monitored and handled daily. For the first 16 days of thier life we

utilize the "Super Dog" protocol which is a series of steps that provide

early neurological stimulation that is known to have lasting effects on

As soon as the puppies begin to pull themselves around we try start

giving them a daily challenge even as simple as some may be. This

starts even before the eyes or ears have opened and continues through

the 8 weeks they are here. They learn to handle stress and helps to

build confidence later on.

Starting at 2 weeks of age the puppies are wormed and have follow

up wormings every other week after that.

As eyes are opened, toys of all colors, shapes, and sizes are added

to their pen. As ears open they are exposed to various sounds from a

CD called "Puppy Sounds" by Dean Lake. This CD has noises from

trains, planes, autos, barking dogs, daycare, geese, you name it and

it is probably on there. In addition to that they hear all the household

noises while they enjoy time in the middle of our living room.

As they are up and moving around we start litter box training...

"Its not just for cats anymore". They are provided with a sleep area,

play area, and elimination area and you would be surprised how well

"most" of them do. We do not guarantee puppies to be 100% litterbox

trained, but their effort is greatly appreciated.

As mom begins to have enough of her little sharp teeth devils, we

start feeding the pups a mush made of quality kibble dog food

(no can food) several times a day. This is a time that we are really

glad they know a little about the litter box :).

At about 4 weeks provided the weather/temperature cooperates the

pups start having some outside playtime where they experience even

more sights and sounds. Eventually they will meet other members of

our pack supervised and through a fence for the most part.

We typically keep our pups inside our home the full 8 weeks, but

there are occasions that we have unusually large litters where it

becomes impossible. At these times about 6.5 - 7 weeks they are

moved to a puppy play & housing area. They have a large covered

pen to play in then they can use a doggie door to go inside where

there is heat / air conditioning. They still have daily interaction with

our family ! You will never find a litter locked away in a horse stall

inside a barn.

During this time we also like to take the puppies for short car rides.

As thier 8 week departure time comes near we start to seperate the

pups from each their a few hours a day into individual crates. Seems

this helps them transition into thier new home easier and no we cannot

guarantee a quiet puppy the first few nights away from mom, littermates,

and the only surroundings it has known. We do provide you some tips

that have worked pretty well for us.

My new puppy families will receive a puppy packet that includes health

record, pedigree, registration application if applicable, copy of the

contract, training tips and other information as well as a picture CD

of thier puppy since Day 1. Most importantly my contact info should

you have any questions regarding your new family member.

Leslie has been the best experience for me in purchasing a puppy. Oreo is beautiful and very healthy. She even worked with me on meeting me half way for the drive to pick him up. She had all his health records and registration papers. What you see is what you get, a beautiful dog! Very pleased with the whole transaction and have maintained contact with her.
